Rx Hair Loss Serum is intended for use by individuals assigned male at birth (including cisgender men and transgender women) who are not pregnant, breastfeeding, or able to become pregnant. Read this patient information before you start using this medication and each time you get a refill. There may be new information. This information does not take the place of talking with your healthcare provider about your medical condition or treatment. Rx Hair Loss Serum is a compounded medication that your provider has prescribed to treat male pattern hair loss (androgenetic alopecia). Unlike oral finasteride, Rx Hair Loss Serum is a compounded product. Rx Hair Loss Serum is compounded by licensed pharmacists using active pharmaceutical ingredients. However, similar to all compounded medications, Rx Hair Loss Serum is not FDA approved. This means that the safety, effectiveness, and quality of this medication is not verified by the FDA, as the FDA does not verify the safety, effectiveness, or quality of any compounded drugs. It is only available if prescribed after an online consultation with a medical provider. Topical finasteride has not been studied as extensively as oral finasteride. Although topical administration may reduce systemic exposure in some studies, topical finasteride can be absorbed into the bloodstream, and FDA has received reports of systemic adverse events with compounded topical finasteride products, including products combined with minoxidil. Do not use other topical minoxidil or finasteride products while you are using the Topical Rx Hair Loss Finasteride 0.3% + Minoxidil 6% Serum. Do not allow individuals who are pregnant or breastfeeding, individuals who have the potential to become pregnant, or children handle this medication. Do not allow any of these individuals to come into contact with the treatment site (your scalp) after the medication has been applied. If they do, they should immediately clean the site of contact on their skin with soap and water.
